The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare recognises that obesity rates nationwide continue to rise. Clearly, many Aussies need to start living healthier lives. A good way to do so is to incorporate more fibre in their daily diet.
There is recent science to back this up. Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Medical School found that adults who ate 30 grams of fibre daily for a year saw a vast improvement in their health. Consuming the daily recommended intake of 25 to 30 grams of fibre daily can reduce the risk of colon cancer and other digestive tract diseases.
